Cherish Wisdom
Please listen to my discipline,
And stop the temptation to sin;
Pay attention so as to gain,
Understanding torment and pain.
I have tried in teaching you well,
So not to be going to hell;
For it will Satan who has sought,
Those who abandon what I taught.
My dad taught and I had to learn,
The way my salvation had to earn;
My mom taught me as a child,
How to be tender and mild.
They taught me to their words to cling,
And the goodness that God will bring;
Obey commands so I may live,
And remember to always give.
Cherish wisdom and understanding,
To know what God is commanding;
For if you ever turn away,
Temptation will then make you stray.
Wisdom is watching over you,
And with trials will help you through;
It will protect with all its might,
While feeding you with insight.
Cherish the wisdom from above,
Ensuring to give it your love;
It brings honor when you embrace,
As you will see God shed His grace.
