When least expected
As I sit here so silent
Reflecting on past old days
Reliving every moment
I am nothing but amazed
Times, I stood in aloneness
Faith and hope, light years away
Each step leading to darkness
Unable to see my way
Until...
With pain again colliding
Loosing face and dignity
On the edge of death, falling
I cried, pleading for mercy
So, about my life I went
Short of all expectations
Each instant now being spent
On breaking isolation
"Ask and you shall received"...
Many times heard, now applied
Could not say if I believed
Guessed it would not hurt to try
Time passed, little did happen
Until from distant land
Came close all of a sudden
A heart so pure and content
This precious soul gently spoke
Of strength, wisdom and beauty
With such tenderness evoked
That these resided in me
This heart did mirror to me
What I had buried so deep
This soul made me feel and see
The better parts of me
So, as I sit here silent
Grateful for such a blessing
I see truth in this saying:
"Best things come when least expected."
