Living Strength
It just might be kind of a drag,
If I ever wanted to brag;
I do not want to be a fool,
And definitely not too cool.
Some say it is a bit uncouth,
If I would be telling the truth;
Since most will just love to reject,
If not politically correct.
But I am not going to spare,
You in showing that Christ does care;
So no one would have ever thought,
As hopeless when you are distraught.
But you should not have any fears,
Or the shedding of any tears;
About what Christ may hear or see,
If you abide as meant to be.
I beg the Lord to take away,
The temptations that make me stray;
With kindness so that I can seek,
His Word while I feel so weak.
I beg not to be conceited,
But compassion that is needed;
So I can make it through this life,
That remains through the midst of strife.
So I will brag of my weakness,
Which gives a little uniqueness;
So the might of Christ lives within,
Instead of the corrupted sin.
I accept toils and trials,
As the joy of Christ gives smiles;
For it is clear that I am weak,
But the strength of Christ helps me seek.
