Silvery Moon, Black Velvet SkiesA large silver moon floats aloft a cloud so wispy white, As the rest of the sky lies empty absorbing the lunar light, Above a shimmering light opens up a path upon the sea, As shadows cast an eerie shape from behind a gnarled tree A lunar brilliance shows off the precious jewels of the night, Scattered above a dark velvet backdrop a magical source of light, Then behind a supporting interstellar cast of twinkling stars abound, Ice forms rings around the moon, likened to a crystal tiara crowned, As lovers gaze upwards, universally seeing stars as a floral spray, Stirring romance on a moonbeam supported by the Milky Way, Then man stepped upon the moon, and saw lovers look back at them, Velvety blackness holds that silvery moon. an ultimate celestial gem, Looking up into the night sky, embracing that nocturnal view, Let the full moon light the way, a lovers walk for both of you, Away from city lights, a canvas so powerful meets your eyes, Son of Venus upon a moonbeam as an arrow from Cupid flies Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
