 Door of No Return

It has always been there, In the back of my mind, I fear the thought of it,
that which patiently awaits me, behind that door of darkness.
No one want to go there, no one ever ventures there to open that foreboding door,
for fear of the unknown, and those who have, never returned.
But, as time ticks away, and each moment, sifts through the proverbial hour glass,
bringing me closer to that dreaded door of darkness each and every day.
All the Kings men and all the gold on earth can’t stop me from arriving
at the door of no return, and when I reluctantly step through that door,
time will stop for me, and eternal darkness will be mine forever more…
and I’ll become just a whisper in the winds of time!
