Faith of Naval Seamen
Let them give thanks unto the Lord,
For His mercy while on board;
Remaining safe sailing the seas,
From gusty winds to the calm breeze.
Let them sing of the sacrifice,
Pretty girls that try to entice;
But keep honest and upright lives,
For their port with their waiting wives.
Let them tell of a joyful song;
Of the things that they have done wrong;
Making it right what God had done,
Through Jesus Christ His only Son.
Those who sail the sea in a ship,
Continue to steer with a tight grip;
Whose concern is to cross the ocean,
In the depths must hold emotion.
But most see what the Lord can do,
Miracles performed each day through;
He speaks when the storm starts to blow,
To calm the waves where waters flow.
Sailors onboard rise toward the sky,
And asking upon the Lord why;
Courage melting upon their face,
But the Lord speaks and waves His grace.
He made the storm calm and waves still,
Which no sailor had such a skill;
The Lord guided the ship to port,
And host of angels for escort.
