LOCK AND KEY

LOCK AND KEY

Recently I found a lock but no key
So this brought no joy at all to me,
A lock and key they come as a pair
And I am sure that there is no spare.

I hunted high and low for this key
But it just seemed to evade me,
So I decided I would look no more
It would turn up in time I was sure.

Then one day just out of the blue
My quest I need no longer pursue
For opening a draw, as you do
A key lay there as though on cue.

Could it be the one - I was unsure
I`ll try it in the lock to be sure,
With trepidation I took the key
Only one way to find out, let`s see.

With one hand I took hold of the key
The other held the lock, now let`s see,
The key fitted in, but would it turn?
This now was my main concern.

With a twist of my wrist I heard it click
It opened the lock as if by magic
I tried it again just to make sure
Yes this was the one I`d been looking for.

Lock and key are united once more
I`ll keep them that way that`s for sure,
One is no good just on its own
One needs the other this has shown.
