Promised Growth
The divine power of God,
Does give us everything;
We need of whence we are flawed,
That a righteous life will bring.
For this power has given,
Unto us through the knowledge;
That flows down from in Heaven,
And that we do acknowledge.
It is the One who has called,
By the glory of His own;
And we have been so enthralled,
By the Lord upon His throne.
So through His integrity,
He has promised us a growth;
Giving the highest value,
And not lazy or to loath.
Through promises you will share,
Being of divine nature;
Because Jesus Christ does care,
For you are a new creature.
You escape from corruption,
From the sinful desires;
Causing such an addiction,
That your weakness requires.
Add to your faith and virtue,
As well as your self control;
Of purity to construe,
That will energize your soul.
So endure the temptation,
And to Christian affection;
Helping through the duration,
For spiritual protection.
