The Work of Christ
The Spirit of the Lord,
Has now come upon me;
And cannot be ignored,
He helped my eyes to see.
God chose me to go preach,
To the humble people;
The salvation to teach,
That is in the Gospel.
The Lord anointed me,
To deliver Good News;
Letting others to see,
Christ has paid our dues.
He has sent me to heal,
Any brokenhearted;
And to give them the zeal,
Give hope that departed.
Captives will be set free,
And prisoners released;
As the Lord does decree,
When their hatred has decreased.
God sent me on good will,
And the day of vengeance;
For having to instill,
Them to stop negligence.
I comfort those who grieve,
Giving them golden crowns;
If they truly believe,
It wipes away their frowns.
