The Hadron Collider smashes atoms apart,
They then announce God's particle's been found,
Their new found hysteria flies right off the chart,
This achievement will astonish and astound.
Billions of pounds spent on what you might ask,
Tracing something that everyone's missed,
Proving a theory that was their task,
To find a particle which may still not exist.
As theories go it's up there with the best,
Until another disproving it comes along,
Very few of them stand up to the test,
The vast majority turn out to be wrong.
They don't even know that this is the one,
It's a discovery they cannot guarantee,
What does it mean when all's said and done,
Not a lot to you and me.
It might be Higgs Boson perhaps it is not,
As is the norm their discovery's obscure,
Theories always leave physicists distraught,
With conjecture you can never be sure.
It's a bit like God creating mankind,
Some scientists say that cannot be true,
But unlike Higgs Boson I think you will find,
