'' We Are Being Left Behind ''
As prices are on the increase,
They are rising really fast,
Why, we need to ask ourselves,
The answer lies in our past.
While we used the ground for food,
We treasured our nurtured soil,
Then someone discovered,
That black stuff they call oil.
While oil was plentiful,
We treated it like dust,
Now the wells are running dry,
Alternatives are a must.
But we sat back and ignored this fact,
No one made the decision,
To look for renewable energies,
We never made that provision.
Now as oil is running out,
Our politicians cry,
If we don't cut down our usage,
Our planet will surely die.
What they're trying to tell us,
The opinion they are forming,
Is that we must all stop driving,
To prevent this global warming.
Then some bright spark decided,
Forget about growing food,
We'll use the crops for fuel instead,
An alternative to crude.
Now while our politicians,
Holiday in the Algarve,
They use up oil that's meant for food,
While the ordinary people starve.
What they really mean is,
They need more oil than you,
They'll tax us off land, sea and air,
Keep travel for the chosen few.
So wake up and smell the roses,
Look further than beyond,
Try and see the facts in this,
We're all being conned.
Our scientists can't agree as one,
Believe their theories if you dare,
One says yes the other says no,
They are full of putrid air.
Global warming is the myth,
Our politicians create,
To hide the truth that oil,
Will soon be out of date.
We must show our world leaders,
Their tactics we despise,
Then show them we're not listening,
To their fantasies and lies.
While the rich get richer,
Their pockets are being lined,
By us the common people,
