Changeless Decree
I go forth but God is not there,
To tell troubles within my prayer;
Then go back but cannot find Him,
My search makes me feel sort of grim.
On the left I see not as I look,
I feel as though that He forsook;
The same as I look on the right,
God is nowhere within my sight.
But He knows the road that I take,
Assured there will be no mistake;
God knows I do as I am told,
And will finish as pure as gold.
I followed His footsteps closely,
And followed directions clearly;
On the same path that I did stay,
But never once did I go astray.
I leave not His commands behind,
I keep them in both heart and mind;
His Word is treasure to my heart,
And kept there for me to impart.
Rather God is one of a kind,
No one can make Him change His mind;
God will do as He desires,
And doing as He requires.
I have trembled for God terrified me,
So silent unable to see;
As the darkness covers my face,
I yearn to feel His sweet embrace.
