Silent now the whispers that always caught me feeling anxious
and the guns of war have quietened in my mind
the sun can finally warm me as life begins to feel much colder
and the thoughts about myself now feel more kind.
My mind has sometimes faltered in deciphering life's meaning
and some conclusions that I came to where just wrong
they often led to me a feeling that all I am defeating
is the strength of mind I needed to be strong.
Some days still are testing when dark clouds form above me
but now the storms that rage will never break my heart
for I know the sun is shining with clouds of silver lining
somewhere in time when those dark clouds will part.
