 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

WAKE ME... WHEN I'M DONE

Photobucket

The earth moved... beneath my feet
and I stood disoriented
feeling a sense... of being suffocated
I removed my clothing
as I moved toward an iron door
of this self made... unstable prison

My pale arm... stretched outward
touching a cold rusted handle
I turned my wrist quickly
it hit me... like a flash of a camera

Freedom and light-

At first blinding glance
this light was too bright
I covered my eyes with my palms
but I remember feeling free

...free enough... to step forward
and to shed whatever held me behind
...behind those closed off walls
the very walls and barriers that kept me
...that kept me well... safe and away... from
the public eye

Better for me...tho
perhaps better for them

My inner being that mirrored a calm lake
it trembled like an earthquake
a ferocious lioness wanted to escape
and prowl and scream aloud
oh what troubled waters... that may come

The rain fell hard and I ran wildly
into a cloud covered horizon
with a melting sunset as my distant curtain
the wet sensation was welcoming
I was being bathed... by angelic tears

Not worried about my naked self
I stood in the middle of an old hwy
as cars moved on both sides of a frail body
honking and yelling profanity's

For whatever reason... I screamed back
similar to a crazed lunatic
but I had given into my will
to just be a human
being... in the now and present
if you will...
presenting my naked truth
resembling my original birthday

I rambled on about liberty
and justice for all...
at the top of my lungs
I screamed for.. this suffering to end
from the depths of this instrument
a dark cloud emerged from my center
...releasing...I stood...

Stumbling to the roadside
... I dropped to my knees
and wept for human/kind...
wishing we could... be both

I paused and took in a deep breath
exhaling all that hindered me
and crouched inside a bush of stickers
entangled... wearing a crown of thorns
somewhat startled by the people approaching
...startled somewhat... by my disheveled appearance
as I did not remember...how I became here
nor a single moment...that had just passed-
