  Seasons and Reasons

The leaves are changing from deep green to burnt
orange, bright yellows, apple red, gold and
hazelnut brown and from the tall oak, maple and
cyamore trees, they lazily float to the ground.
The scarecrow shivers in the wind, winter is just
around the bend.

The tall golden corn no longer stands and only the stubble
cover the land. The cawing of a crow is calling to its clan,
the grain left in the fields become a feast for those on hand.

Winter with it wonderland becomes a playground for the young,
Ice skating, snowboarding, sledding, ice hockey and more.

But, whereas, winter with its cold, frost, ice and snow is no
friend to us folks so feeble and  old.
Slip, slide and fall…broken hips, legs and arms from the
short to the tall. We can’t wait until the first buds of spring
appear and the robing and martins replace the noisy crows
in the warmth of the new year!
