 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

Delicate Delivery

I am that one
whom stands with fists
pounding an iron curtain
inhaling the world

Inside that shadow box
parts of me live
frozen in time
with an language barrier

With sincerest apologies
I give you primrose and thistle
and a gag ball inside your mouth

For the torment
that has scraped my tongue
I bequeath justice

Covering my bleeding eyes
from another sandstorm
that an unconcerned society is blind of

There is an delicate disorder
somewhere between you and I
controlled and submissive
before the ferocious calm

Pigs do not fly
but people do and Mona Lisa said awe
wearing her contrived wings

There is much to be said
...It does agitate me
within this body
that I carry...

How does one express
the licorice black corners
of these walls
that which I reside

This is my legend
of an enormous public fall
my failure as a woman
drenched in ebony ink

See me surrendered and naked
I am that statue of liberty
with swollen breasts of poverty
give me what is rightfully mine

An omen was written
and I responded by living it-
I've had to take opiates
to quiet the mind
for it is belligerent
an resisting warrior

I am very much concerned
that the very yolk of all
has seen better days
while we cradle it's ugly delivery

It has hardened and it has spoiled
crumbling into the soil
in which we have planted our souls

I give you an elaborate view
of a valley of crimson earth
speckled with humanity's remains

Artificial reservoirs have held back
the oceans of the new beginning
and we will prevail within a blue sanctuary
dancing inside the depths of life

We shall swim again
and taste the salted waters
of our mother land
and drink the tears of it's creator

I give you my collected substance
from scraps of peoples greed
and an arsenal of broken threads~

Now let us indulge-
