 Penciled Thoughts

So many of my yesterdays

So many of my yesterdays
Floated across my brain.
The glowing of my afterlife
Drowned out by rain.

Remembering the sunsets
That was made just for me.
Breezes that gently kiss my lips
Rushed by so quietly.

Reds and greens and yellows dance
Across a sky of blue.
They bring back memories so fine
Because they are of you.

You make me very happy
My laughter fills the air.
You fill me with a true love
That tells my heart you care.

So I will go on drifting
Through yesterday, today.
I can't find tomorrow
That seems so far away.

The shades of nighttime rushes
To loll the day to sleep.
They brought a pot of stars along
Covers heaven with one sweep.

Darkness is all about me
Coating me with black.
I hide deep inside myself
Afraid I'll get attacked.

Why is it I beat me up
Then I start blaming you?
I knock me down drag me ‘round
A hell I put me through.

A touch by reality
Brings me to here and now.
Maybe this will help me out
I just don't know how.
