Mission Exploratory

It's so hard to be an alien
To maintain a human form
When a free flowing blob
Is my world's norm.
Each night I relax
Ooze slowly across the floor
Always making sure that
I've securely locked my door.
I cast off my clothes
And in liquid delight
Lie like a puddle
For most of the night,
Keeping good track
Of the time passing by
By permanently opening
My One compound eye.
Come the morning and that
Form of mental rape
Forcing my being back
Into that foreign shape.
Information nearly gathered
Soon my mission can end
And I will return to orbit
And join my waiting friend.
All acquired data filed
Mission result quite clear
Only life of limited potential
Exists anywhere down here.
Computers set
For departure track,
Charts marked
Not worth coming back.
