Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

One desolate cold flame

Soon the cold wind of winter will call out her warnings
fires I'll light to keep the hearth warm
doors will be shut to keep out the cold night
but I'll shiver with bitterness of a life that is torn.

The autumn clouds gave warning of the winter approaching
but the warm breeze of summer fed all of my dreams
not thinking of the cold winds and night fast approaching
I thought only of pleasure and what pleasure could be.

Now the skies torn and the future is closing
memories and heartache seem all that remain
nothing of the wonderment of all things within me
just the cold winds of winter and one desolate cold flame.
