Plea for His Law

Be kind to me so I may live,
My thoughts and actions please forgive;
I want to hold on to Your Word,
And everything I have heard.

Uncover my eyes as to see,
Miraculous things yet to be;
The things of which I have been taught,
On items of interest I sought.

As a foreigner in this land,
Please do not hide any command;
No matter where I am on earth,
Because I know of their true worth.

My soul is aroused by Your Law,
Not to break them causing a flaw;
So I can keep my righteousness,
And assured through Your blessedness.

Arrogant people are a threat,
With no remorse or any regret;
As condemned they wander away,
While they keep going astray.

Remove the insults and attempt,
That has fallen into contempt;
Because I have obeyed as said,
But have been disciplined instead.

Your instructions do make me glad,
It is Congress that makes me sad.
Making laws contradicting Yours,
Etched in stone that each one ignores.
