This morning after I dressed and was about my day's business
I turned on my computer and clicked on the Safari icon

Pronto I am connected to the World Wide Web
With a click of the mouse I can be in England or France or India

With another click of the mouse I can be in Washington State
or visiting a friend in Florida

By lunch I could have visited friends all around the world
and read their newspaper with the help of Google's word translator

With another click of the mouse I am here on PoetryPoem posting this
Another click I am reading your poems and getting my daily fix of the WWW

What did I do before the World Wide Web
Were those really the good old days

With Halloween coming I suppose I should have written about a spider web
Spiders are not one of my favorite of God's little creatures

They do seem to love making webs
every time I think I have my home cleaned up

I look up and low and behold there is a spider web
looking down at me

I am no Little Miss Muffet but if a spider comes and sits beside
me I too will run away
