FOUR KINDS OF LOVE .  WHAT ARE THEY ?

I am not an expert on this subject - but I will do my 
best to explain what I believe are the four different 
kinds of love . .. . and how they affect each of our 
lives .

STORGE .... PHILEO .... EROS .... AGAPE ....

The word Love is used in so many different ways -
I love you - I love ice-cream - or football - or chocolate -
or a pair of shoes ..
The list goes on and on .
But what does it really mean ?
To love with all your heart - soul - mind and strength ?
Can this be possible ?
Well -  let me try to explain it - as best I can -
this vast - unfathomable subject -
Sought for - by everyone .

First - there are four different kinds of love -
Each unique in its own place -
So let me start with number One ..

The first is Storge  ( storegay ) love -
This is the love by which - close family ties are bound .
Parental love - for good and naughty children alike -
Affection - that feels deeply - whether deserved or not -
That says - ' I love you - just because you're mine '
A love that holds the family ties together -
That disciplines and protects - in the same breath -
But - it is love - of the most natural kind .

Then there is Phileo love -
The love of friends .
Solid - dependable - accepting - Strong love -
Love that stands alongside - that shares - and cares -
Love that crosses gender - unselfish - undemanding love .
Full of feeling - emotional - protective love 
Unswerving and affectionate love .
The Best Friend kind of love .
Like David and Jonathan -
Brother - to brother  - acceptable love .

Thirdly - there is Eros Love -
The  ' Being in Love ' - passionate love -
Intimate - sensual - heartbeat love .
Desiring to give - and receive love -
The strongest - Feeling  - romantic love -
That  sends  shivers down the spine type love -
And can inspire poets and artists and singers -
To write - and paint - and croon about .
And can cause people to live or die together love .
But can blow hot and cold  -
When jealousy or rivalry intervenes .
Then turns to -  kiss and make up - type love .
Designed for lovers - struck to the heart .
Eros love .

Last - but not least - is AGAPE love 
GOD's own kind of love .
Love that demands action - 
Which - without HIS help - we could  never  fulfil .
Love that demands obedience - not ' feelings ' .
Love  that desires - Faith in Action - not Mush .
What kind of love can this be ?
Love that tells us ' to love our enemies '
Do good to them that hate us .
Pray for them who spitefully use us '
Feed them and cloth them - 
And give them a drink  of cold water - if they thirst.
Do not repay them evil for evil .

Love that says -
While we were yet sinners - CHRIST died for us .
And GOD so loved us - HE gave HIS  Beloved SON -
To Die for - Us .
It didn't  ' feel ' good .
We didn't deserve such love .
But - Obediently - willingly - HE did it .
out of HIS deep compassion for us .

Now - what Joy it gives HIM - when we in gratitude say -
Thank  YOU LORD -
For AGAPE - Loving  Me .

4 LOVES.

STORGE ....We're family - we'll stick together through
                      thick or thin .

PHILEO  .....I love you my friend - I'm with you all the 
                      way .

EROS.   ......I desire you . I'm in love with you . Be mine .

AGAPE  ......I will show MY love for you - by laying down
                     MY life for you .
