A preface to this writing. No I am not into space aliens. Kathy asked if
it might be a little Irish blarney. Much of my youth I cannot recall vividly.
This is one night I could never forget. I had never seen anything as amazing'
It is like the snowstorm of 1950 when I was lost and pushing my bike home. Somethings
you cannot forget.
Dandy was reading about flying saucers
Monday back to worrying about things today
An amateur pilot from Boise in 1947
reported seeing nine unidentified discs
circling Mt Rainier shaped like saucers
Where was Dandy nine years old in June 1947?
Camping out under starlit skies
I remember the day well as if yesterday
Nine of us neighbor kids were outside
Having raided the neighbors trees for green apples
It was a warm hot night and we were in sleeping bags
Talking kids talk and scaring each other about
Goblins, vampires ghosts and a neighbor's dog barking
This was when the scaring became real
Out of the starlit sky appeared a round object
It hovered above as if spying
We were scared there was no denying
All but two of us ran calling for Mom
Maybe I was too scared to run It was awesome
No sound of motors the beast just hovered above
It was so close and I knew a helicopter made sounds
Then as silent as it came it took off for the sky
Next day the news reported sight of a "Flying Saucer"
Drunks had seen it leaving the local tavern
A late Church group but they were seeing Jesus
But none had been as close as us two boys
Not more than thirty feet above our sleeping bags
So the article is saying the story well be on the travel channel
Years later as an adult I saw the Flying saucer again
For the first time a long kept secret introduced to the public
Just an opinion mind you Dandy thinks it is not time travel
But just as Sasquatch a home grown figment of imagination
Some engineers at Boeing had been eating green apples
And created this thing they called the Stealth Bomber
I believe what we saw was an early protocol version being tested
See it in April, "Monumental Mysteries", on the travel time channel
Course I didn't believe in Santa Claus until he brought me a World Bike
