I ask of the leaders, Would you please lead your flock; Be nourishing feeders, When you decide to talk. So I make this appeal, As one of your elders; Did you ever reveal, Suffering reminders. Suffering of the Christ, Revealed in the story; Why He was sacrificed, To share in the glory. Be shepherds of the flock, Tend the flock of the Lord; And with them as you walk, Let not they be ignored. God has entrusted you, To watch just as He; Do as desire to, Not as it has to be. Do it not as for greed, But desire to serve; So you can spread the seed, Towards the spiritual curve. Be models for the flock, Guide them so they follow; Not a ruler as you talk, Nor words that sound hollow. Your flock might fade away, Before told the story; And then they go astray; Before your crown of glory. Copyright © 2012 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
