Passion Pressed to Seep

I saw a light in your eyes
A passion pressed to seep
The love I saw reflected there
Somehow now mine to keep
The years are quickly passing
There’s gray in both our hair
I do not care about the time
As long as you are there
At dawn my darling I awake
And say a prayer for you
I’ve loved you since before
I breathed in morning dew
My heart knew your eyes
Your heart and each hair strand
My spirit reaches out to you
Sometimes on tiptoe stance
I linger quietly with you
where words are sparsely used
It is your quiet nature, love
That balances my hue
The faint salty masculinity
Oh, perfumed scent of you!
It's what I carry home with me
My darling, darling, true

 Soul!
