Live a life as more disciplined, Not like it was how you have sinned; Listen to the words of wisdom, That God gave me from His Kingdom. Wait not to punish a child, That runs amuck and gone wild; If you spank him he will not die, All he will do is start to cry. Spank him yourself to save his soul, Away from hell will be your goal; Soon he will know what he did wrong, As agony will not prolong. If your heart is wise then rejoice, But let not anger use your voice; When you rejoice speak what is right; You will stay with God in the light. Envy not sinners in your heart, For they will very soon depart; Continue to fear the Lord God, In giving Him honor and laud. There is indeed future in hope, Along the road you have to cope; But your will never disappear, Remembering that God is near. So my son, listen and be wise, Open up both your ears and eyes; Keep your mind going the right way, Allowing it never to stray. Copyright © 2012 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
