'' Our Attitude Dictates How Others React ''
Always being right fits me quite well,
Some would say I am smug,
If you don't approve you can rot in Hell,
I'll look down on you as a mug.
My achievements in life are second to none,
I would bet you couldn't say the same,
While your best efforts become undone,
I'll be the one finding fame.
My fuel in life is pure raw ambition,
I will cast those weaker aside,
Reaching the top is my life's mission,
Nothing will knock me off my stride.
If you dislike me I don't really care,
You need me more than I need you,
So from the start I'll make you aware,
I'll always be at the front of the queue.
I really don't care that I'm a figure of hate,
It's a title that suits me fine,
If my person you want to berate,
I will tell you to get in line.
Being a loner is to be admired,
On others I don't need to depend,
For blinding success I have aspired,
This attitude I don't need to defend.
I live my life the way I choose,
Knowing the message this sends,
Everything and anything I will use,
I can survive my life without friends.
By chance one day I crashed my car,
I refused to acknowledge any blame,
My excuses really were quite bizarre,
For the first time I actually felt shame.
I had nobody to call to ask for assistance,
My talents were nowhere to be found,
All I could do was put up resistance,
They said my arrogance was very profound.
Suddenly a light went on in my head,
My selfishness was causing such fear,
They said I was lucky not to be dead,
We can't believe you're still here.
Total strangers helping me to survive,
I was forced to ask myself why,
They said it's our duty to keep you alive,
We would never let anyone die.
Suddenly I realised I was not alone,
I paused to give this some thought,
I realised then it was time to atone,
Some things in life just cannot be bought.
Camaraderie and respect are gifts to be earned,
You must never lose sight of that fact,
From your mistakes lessons must be learned,
