Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

War, a thing of the past.

Still waiting for the right door to open
where the pathway will lead me away
to a place where enlightenment beckons
to a place that feels safer to pray…
for all around me the whole world is crumbling
fires still ravage the land
battles rage hard and claim from our children
their future… as all war demands…
we talk often of the need to move forward
move away from the reasons for war
but it always comes back to the dollar
and the counters who always keep score…
so I'm still waiting for the right door to open
and lead me to a calm that will last
to that place where enlightenment beckons
where war is a thing of the past!
