My son, My Soldier...
So it's time for you to go,
you're all packed up and grown.
Off to be a man, to stand tall
To fight for your country, defending us all
Thoughts, hopes and dreams, come to realization
While I stay back home, dreading the separation
But I'll be strong and watch you fly
Bowing my head to pray, in silence I cry
Go fight for our freedom, do me proud
I'll defend your choices, cheer you on loud
For you are a soldier, through and through
and I'm a soldier's mother, earning my star of blue.
