When my heart was filled with sorrow, Thinking there was no tomorrow; I was bitter my soul was grieved, Because I no longer believed. I was stupid misunderstood, And I did not do as I should; When I walked away from the light, Thought I was hidden from His sight. But God was with me all the time, He saw me when I did the crime; And He will forgive and forget, Since Jesus Christ had paid my debt. He holds my hand as I abide, With His advice He is my guide; Taking to glory in the end, Being my everlasting friend. As long as I am having Him, I can never be feeling grim; Even though I may be sick to death, Not knowing when is my last breath. Nothing else needed here on earth, Since none of it has a true worth; My body and mind waste away, But God remains that obey. No doubt those who are far will die, The loss will make some others cry; But the unfaithful will be killed, Compassionate as well as skilled.
