Things that we only heard about, We could never have any doubt; As with the things that we have seen, Know for certain that it has been. For in the city of the Lord, The armies cannot be ignored; Like the city of our God, The temple to worship and laud. Inside the temple we reflect, Confessing on what we neglect; Asking for His mercy and grace, Comforted by His sweet embrace. We know what worshipping is worth, As our praise encircles the earth; One hand is filled with righteousness, The other filled with blessedness. Walk around Zion what do you see? A fortress with towers to be; Walk through all of the palaces, Where all of the truth balances. Prepare for a new foundation, And tell the next generation; This is our God forever, With leading us, will not sever. So forever this God will lead, And provide for every need; He will lead us well beyond death, And lead us through every breath. Copyright © 2013 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
