'' Now We're Terrified To Turn On The Light ''

As utility bills rise out of control,
It's caveman tactics we need to enrol,
Just staying warm is our main goal,
Killing us by stealth isn't right.

The central heating is a thing of the past,
How much longer can any of us last?
We've no protection from the icy blast,
It's as if they're doing it for spite.

The cooking must be done on an open fire,
Old wood and paper is what we need to acquire,
Without it the consequences are dire,
Our future health is not looking bright.

Politicians and big business are robbing us blind,
What they're doing to us is so unkind,
Our problem is they don't seem to mind,
It's our ire that they incite.

Why do we allow it is what we must ask?
Have none of us the courage to take them to task,
Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask,
Why don't we put up a fight?

As the majority starve they're overweight,
Their attitude to us really does frustrate,
Their greed and corruption we've got to abate,
We're being put on from a very great height.

Their rising prices across the board,
Are increases we the people can no longer afford?
They need to be told their greed is deplored,
They are giving us no respite.

On a crusade of equality it's time to embark,
Show the blaggards our bite's worse than our bark,
When young we were all afraid of the dark,

‘' Now We're Terrified To Turn On The Light ‘'
