Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

May do well to feast?

What have I brought to the table?
that others may do well to feast
what monsters and dragons escaped from my shadow?
so that I now am labelled the beast.

Where is the fruit of my labour?
that others may do well to feast
I have built only a wall to guard and protect me
from a world full of lies and deceit.

Where are the dreams that I squandered?
that others may do well to feast
a life-time of searching for something to believe in
but now knowing I've known only defeat.

Where is the true love I yearned for?
so that others may do well to feast
having found only distrust and borders of concrete
and that love is always to tease.

Where is the worth of my being?
so that I know others may do well to feast
having a life so fragmented that little has meaning
I now wonder of all I achieved?
