The last Fragrent Petal of a Virgin RoseA long awaited bloom gracefully opened by the sun, Newly planted in the spring, new growth had begun, In loving memory of our pet a pinkish blossom we chose, Watching the last fragrant petal of that virgin rose. In our garden at peace, she's now eternally at rest, The rose bush a symbol for the family well blessed, Our pussy cat named Sian, had celebrated many years, Selective of what she heard with that elegant cat's ears With a cooler climate, a new rose blooms with ease, Gifting it's scent to the nose, it's beauty to please, A morning dew lingers as a new flower shows, A sweet fragrant aroma of that new virgin rose, Her favourite spot this winter may be usurped by our dog, That is sleeping in front of the fireside, as warm as a log, Befriending our dog Rolo as she approached latter years, I am sure when she passed on he quietly shed some tears Interred with an aptly named rose called ”Forget me Not,” She won't be forgotten because of the happiness she brought, Now quietly sharing her special garden in everlasting repose, Watching over the last pink fragrant petal of her virgin rose.
