I sat in my room actually studying
The Flamingoes were singing, "I only have eyes for you!"
But there were three girls walking by that day
All three looked up and smiled and waved
Every day you walked by my window and waved
Not only at me but all the guys in windows
And I thought how vain
When I found out the girl in the middle was blind
And it was not vanity it was so
She could learn to walk to her next class counting steps
Learning it was my record playing that brought you by my window
Later I would learn there was nothing vain about you
But it was not love at first sight
So beautiful I thought myself not in your league
So many stories I could tell about our love
