Poetic-Verses

'' A Politician Poor ''

Do politicians tell the truth,
That's one thing we'll never know,
When you ask them if they've ever lied,
They never answer yes or no.

It's the same with anything you ask them,
Their answer always sours,
Instead of just a one word reply,
They will rabbit on for hours.

If you catch them on the fiddle,
Or with their trousers down,
They'll all shout out, ‘'it wasn't me ‘'
As they throw on their dressing gown.

They promise to give you tax cuts,
A better way of life,
Yet when they're voted into power,
All they do is give us strife.

Every party does the same,
They are just like sewer rats,
Once they've been given autonomy,
They behave like spoiled brats.

It's the same the world over,
Whether it's Labour or the Tories,
When you expose their dirty deeds,
They'll claim it's made up stories.

They never take their share of the blame,
When things get out of hand,
They'll blame it on the public,
Then say we don't understand.

Their ignorance does defy belief,
Their behaviour is so uncouth,
You're more likely to dine with Elvis,
Than find one who tells the truth,

If you print a quote from them,
They'll say, it isn't true,
It's been taken out of context,
Then they'll try to sue.

When you catch them lying,
Or committing a fraudulent act,
They'll say it was an oversight,
Then form a watertight pact.

If the police then question them,
They'll say that is a flaw,
Politicians can't be criminals,
For they are all above the law.

Even when they're wrong they're right,
That isn't down to luck,
For when they're caught red handed,
All they do is pass the buck.

Take the case of one M.P.,
When his offices were raided,
All of them were up in arms,
You'd think Britain had been invaded.

While he was held for nine long hours,
He was driven out of his senses,
For the time he was kept in custody,
He couldn't claim any expenses.

Your elected ones are responsible,
If your country's in a mess,
So rather than admit it,
They'll say don't give me stress.

Politicians the world over,
Are very much the same,
They'll take credit when all's going well,
But when bad they're not to blame.

Look at the world economy now,
They claim it's not their fault,
Yet they still line their pockets,
While our incomes grind to a halt.

We then lose our work and homes,
While they stay super rich,
We're forced to live in dark despair,
While their's goes on without a hitch.

They make the claim their job is hard,
It causes them so much tension,
It does takes a lot of effort,
Voting for rises to your salary and pension.

To become a politician,
The only qualities you'll need,
Are looking after number one,
The other of course is greed.

So while we're trying to struggle on,
Of one thing you can be sure,
You will never see nor will there be,
