'' More Intelligence Is The Last Thing We Need ''
If we're still evolving we'd better take care,
As for our future humans better beware,
For mass destruction we have a flair,
As a species we are obsessed by greed.
From our hands and stones to knives and spears,
Gunpowder for bombs from our pioneers,
A nuclear device blows everything disappears,
We just strive to make others bleed.
Culling exercises for each generation,
To curb the rise in the population,
War is truly a grotesque creation,
Yet the consequences we refuse to heed
While the planet we live on is fading fast,
We still refuse to acknowledge our past,
How much longer do you think we can last?
Yet onwards and upwards we proceed.
Polluting our planet with billions of cars,
Deluding ourselves with trips to the stars,
We will never live on the planet Mars,
It's the scientists aim to mislead.
Delusions of grandeur as they strive to achieve,
Discarding their principles in what they believe,
Theories are not fact they are meant to deceive,
In truth very few of them succeed.
While some humans starve for the want of a meal,
Their plight the others then try to conceal,
They do not give a damn about how they feel,
That is a terrible misdeed.
Resources on Earth are dwindling away,
Shortages are causing all of us affray,
On how we live we should all have a say,
But our efforts the rich always impede.
A more intelligent species could well evolve,
That would really test our resolve,
Power they may state they will not devolve,
To superiority they could well accede.
If we're really that intelligent why do we destroy?
As a species each other we tend to annoy,
Killing everything in sight we seem to enjoy,
Regardless of colour or creed.
As we've evolved the planets dying faster,
Our species are truly the ultimate disaster,
Of death and pain the human being is the master,
That's a fact we refuse to concede.
With Mother Nature we have not been complying,
Saying we are superior shows someone is lying,
Due to our incompetence the Earth is now dying,
Our true abilities we have tried to exceed.
As for superior brains we're not really that clever,
As our links to all life we continue to sever,
Our evolution will not last forever,
