This is the only poem I well put on site that is not my own.
Warning it is very emotional. If anyone has read my poetry They may have
read one of my poems, "Immemorial to Staci": To soar to seek embrace the
skies. Alas no wings have I. Her walk so gentle yet aloft as a baby bird
on it's maiden flight. Her voice so soft a mere whisper in the night. No
more beautiful woman I must say that she as beautiful coming toward as the
day she went on her way. It was written at the graveside as my lovely niece
was buried and her young children released balloons in the sky. In my room
this poem is framed, art painting work done for me by Staci's daughter now
grown and attending the same college as her Mother and Dad and my Grand daughter.

I only saw this poem today, hanging on Grandma's wall written by my niece Staci
shortly before the accident and given to her mother shortly before her death
on Mother's day. Mom after ten years of keeping it personal on the anniversary
of her birthday displayed the poem for the first time.

My Mother My Friend:

As I sit and think of you
My mind is flooded with thoughts and memories

I think of all you mean to me
I think of all you've done
But most of all I think of all you are

You are my Mom, my mentor, my best friend
I remember when I was a little girl
You always told me bedtime stories
Every Christmas you took me to visit Santa

You supported all my endeavors
Be it Brownies, piano, flute, gymnastics
Softball, swim team college
Marriage, children, daycare centers

You were never too busy to be my Mom
As I think of you I realize
I have never expressed to you how much
You mean to me

You were always there when I needed someone
You still are!

You gave me guidance
You gave me confidence
You gave me love
All I can give in return is love

I can only hope someday
My daughter loves me
As much as I love you

Staci

#Shortly after this was written Staci was killed
in a car wreck, insanely driven by a man committing suicide
who crossed the center-line and hitting the motor home head on.
She was driving for the first time the motorhome preparing to
take her family to Canada to watch Dad race in a triathlon.
Mom and her children were in the car following because Mom
wouldn't let them in the motorhome until she had more practice.
The motor home instantly burst into flames and this saved her
children. I asked permission to print this and only if no
names were given but the first name. In honor of a beautiful
young girl who is as I know in heaven watching over her mother
and children. In her memory please remember the homeless. At her
funeral the church was filled with homeless from the nearby
tent town. She went three times a week bring food and clothing
and knew each of the homeless by name. She was a child of God.
