Along summer's borderline, she walked down the beach
Watching the tide as it tinged the white- tranquil sand
Half awake, she sighed as dayspring kissed the shore
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Confetti-sprinkled sea spray bathed her parched lips
As she opened her mind to the wind's gentle whispers
Seagulls, like white umbrellas, now circled with a yawn
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Under gun-metal skies and wind-blown sails,
Fog horns murmured their salt- babbled greetings
Along the docks, tooth-picked fishermen gathered
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Across the way, someone waved from their antebellum garden
She waved back as her thoughts stretched forth to drink
Of midnight strolls, lazy moons and shadowed beach crabs
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
She sipped her dreams casually as the wind brushed her hair
Her canvas unveiled white dunes, sea oats and Fort Pickens
Where stone upon stone of history stood silent
along the sandy shores
