Resisting Temptation
I encourage you to live,
As one of the elective;
The kind of life that proves,
Temptations that God removes.
Be humble and kind each day,
While you trust and obey;
Be patient with each other,
Loving towards one another.
Through peace that ties together,
In being sister and brother;
Do your best as united,
And that He is invited.
One body and one Spirit,
That we share and inherit;
In the same way that we cope,
Being called to share one hope.
One baptism and one Lord,
And one faith that is adored;
With one God Father of all,
Who is through and overall.
His favor gave us to teach,
The tools measured to outreach;
And Christ gave to us His grace,
Going to the highest place.
He sent those who had no worth,
Took to the lowest part of earth;
They took us captive and held,
Being the ones that rebelled.
The One that went down went up,
Drank the poison from the cup;
Spewed it out for all to burn,
Because they just could not learn.
