Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

A wasteful picture

A wasteful picture laid bare in the daylight
unveiling just another war once hidden from view
not wanting or caring to march into battle
but onward man marched as all men will do.

Once battle brought hope, but not to those falling
a river of blood carried their dreams away
the conscience of those who were left there to ponder
will find only more horror to greet them each day.

Soon the day comes when the world is left burning
and mankind can only watch as his home is burnt down
maybe then he'll see and be less eager for battle
when only hot ashes are left on the ground.
