Once some things had value,
But now worthless through Christ;
What I say is so true,
By them no longer enticed.
But it is more than that,
To consider all worthless;
I feel much better at,
Knowing Christ who will bless.
It is because of Him,
Jesus Christ our Lord;
Life does not seem so grim,
For not being ignored.
Because of Him I think,
Other things are worthless;
Not quenching thirst to drink,
Leaving an emptiness.
I threw it out to gain,
A relation with Christ;
And will endure the pain,
From what I sacrificed.
Rather I did receive,
Blessings from the Father;
Because I do believe,
Jesus as my Brother.
Approval not from God,
For obeying His laws;
Rather honor and laud,
As faith will heal the flaws.
