The Glory of Our God Must Wait
He came to pave the way for Christ
In rivers, lakes he would baptize
Repent; be saved from all your sins
There's no one else as great as him
He suffered pain; eventual death
For Herod's men cut off his head
So where was Christ when John had died?
He healed the sick; gave sight to blind
Christ let's His children suffer much
It doesn't prove He doesn't love
He sees and knows but does not help
Is He a God that hides Himself?
He lets the world mistreat His word
Sometimes our cries seem never heard
But through our faith we trust in Him
We know that we are cleansed from sin
He lets us call and cry to Him
And sees us through the thick and thin
We're baptized in the words of Christ
He promised us eternal life
It's patience we must learn to have
The time will come when He comes back
For in this world he may seem small
But woe to those who are not called
Cuz when He comes to judge us all
Those with no faith will none but fall
And misery forever be
While those with faith will be set free
Glory to the Father, Son
The Holy Spirit three in one
Who saved us by His saving Grace
The glory of our God must wait
