Blessed are those who find the strength,
To persevere at any length;
For your heart is on the highway,
Where you can never go astray.
The highway does lead to the Lord,
Where you must be of one accord;
For God expects you to remain,
Without a blemish or a stain.
As you pass on through a valley,
It nearly looks like a dark alley;
For the balsam trees grow so thick,
A place for springs they grow so quick.
Blessings come with an early rain,
While a drought causes such a pain;
As it slows the growth of the trees,
Allowing in the arid breeze.
Your strength will grow going along,
Till the time when something goes wrong;
In front of God you will appear,
Where you have to bow down and fear.
And you say to the Lord in prayer,
Remembering what you will share;
As you have gone and calmed your fears,
You ask your Lord open His ears.
Look at our shield Lord O God,
You are the One that we have called;
Look with favor upon this face,
For shedding Your mercy and grace.
Only one day in Your courtyard,
Is best than another reward;
Just let me stand in Your entrance,
For awesome beauty at a glance.
The Lord is my sun and my shield,
The beautiful crops that will yield;
The Lord grants favor and honor,
Never will He be a goner.
