Poetic-Verses
''There'll Be Praise As Well As Dissent''
Can the written word be better expressed?
Do they let out feelings we have suppressed?
Could your problems be better addressed?
Will the recipient know what you meant?
Can your letter or verse be misconstrued?
Will it be understood whenever it's viewed?
Taken out of context it could leave you screwed,
In your life it could leave a dent.
For both oral and written there is a strong case,
The latter could leave your life in disgrace,
Though it will tend to remain in place,
Excuses you may have to invent.
Words in type can be weapons of woe,
They'll follow you wherever you go,
The fact remains only you'll ever know,
If at some point you'll need to repent.
The written word can last forever,
Bringing comfort and joy is what makes it clever,
They encapsulate a bond that no one can sever,
Hidden meanings they can augment.
Be it hatred or love or a story of hope,
Reading the message can help others cope,
Before you start give thought to the scope,
Your content you don't want others to resent.
If you're thinking of writing give it some thought,
Personal feelings cannot be taught,
The greatest masterpiece cannot be bought,
Those words only you can invent.
When writing you'll ignite your inner fire,
Then a literary talent you will acquire,
Before you know it you'll be filled with desire,
Bitten by the authors scent.
Bring all your experience in life to bear,
But regardless of content always take care,
Of your message and meaning try to be aware,
' There'll Be Praise As Well As Dissent '
