Going to war against your foe,
You may see tanks and vehicles;
An army that had seemed to grow,
It felt like we rode bicycles.
Do not ever be afraid of,
Because of the Lord our God;
Who shields you with His love,
While you show honor and laud.
Before you begin to battle,
The chaplain must speak to the troops;
Act not like a herd of cattle,
Do not huddle in little groups.
Do not lose your courage or fear,
And tremble not because of them;
The Lord our God will be near,
He will fight helping to condemn.
God is going to be with you,
And will be fighting against foe;
As He remains both tried and true,
No matter where you have to go.
Victory will be yours no doubt,
That the officers should tell you;
We are preparing for a bout,
And that has been long overdue.
Do not ruin morale of others,
If you have lost all your courage;
Think about all your brave brothers,
That you might cause to discourage.
Some of you may never see home,
Others not see the light of day;
But no matter where you will roam,
Trust in the Lord God and obey.
