wish I could
recall all
the thoughts
I wrought
during the night.
are the synapses firing
less? or does
my mind wander?
I am growing older
but becoming more
the child,
day-dreaming
is the more
pleasant reality.
I prefer its wild-
ness and the leaps
in continuity.
sometimes the worlds
get all mixed up.
that is, the world of
night and sleeping
and the world of day.
they are creeping
closer and closer
together
every day.
which is,
all right with me.
I confess, sometimes,
I prefer the world
of dreams. it seems to me
more real and more tactile on
many different levels.
in dreams, I am in
a time and place where
I have better control
over the constructs
of reality.
though, some say, how
"alternate," it must be.
but, in dreams there is
little finality...especially,
when I can insert
myself in to
manipulate, interpret
what happens next.
the dream is
my ship for the journey;
me, the Captain.
there may be a reason
why
my days and nights
are now beginning
more and more to blend.
guess I really
really
don't want
dreams to end.
