Poetic-Verses

'' They'll Sit Back And Watch As We Die ''

Poverty has many definitions,
All different to those concerned,
It depends entirely on their conditions,
Lessons need to be learned.

The millionaire who loses it all,
Will claim he is now down and out,
In the interim he's still having a ball,
As a liar he remains devout.

The politicians who claim we are bust,
Then go out and spend, spend, spend,
Taking from the poor is so unjust,
But their bad habits they refuse to mend.

They always find money to send us to fight,
Or when an election is due,
Despite the fact they claim money is tight,
They're all rich we know that is true.

Religious groups who demand our cash,
Saying they need money for urgent repairs,
They forget to tell us about that large stash,
They've invested in stocks and shares.

Priceless treasures secretly hidden,
All owned by the churches elite,
Ask to see them they'll say that's forbidden,
It's a wall of silence you'll meet.

When the banks lost billions the poor had to pay,
We knew it would all end in tears,
They then pled poverty and just walked away,
The repurcussions confirmed our worst fears.

Charities who prey on those with the least,
While their directors are rolling in money,
Their incomes soaring while ours has decreased,
They behave like a bee steeped in honey.

Geldof preaches you must feed the world,
Then pays thousands for a trip into space,
He typifies the rich as the truth is unfurled,
Their hypocrisy is a total disgrace.

None would know poverty if it walked in the door,
Hypocrites when all's said and done,
Those who are destitute they prefer to ignore,
Those in genuine need they would shun.

There's a law for the rich and one for the poor,
True poverty to them doesn't apply,
When it comes to the crunch you can be sure,
