'' This Is How Life's Meant To Be ''
I pick myself up when I fall to the ground,
I'm stubborn and refuse to be beat,
My staying power to some does astound,
They see it as a remarkable feat.
I will never give in if I'm in the right,
Though some will say that is wrong,
I refuse to concede without a fight,
My attitude to life remains strong.
I've been knocked down many times before,
But to my feet I will always return,
Giving up is something I truly deplore,
The very thought makes my stomach churn.
With many problems I've been beset,
Each one has been fought from the heart,
Never at any time have I felt regret,
From my principles I will never depart.
Anyone in need let me make you aware,
If you're genuine I will not run and hide,
To aid and assist I'll always be there,
I'll ensure that I stay by your side.
Respect must be earned it's a mutual gift,
Gain mine and I'll be your friend,
Abuse my trust and it will cause a rift,
For our friendship it could be the end.
We all need each other that is a fact,
Especially when the going gets tough,
There will be times you need someone to act,
They'll know when you've suffered enough.
Treating kindness as weakness is an error too far,
For this you'll be cast to the side,
Trying to take advantage leaves a mental scar,
Selfish bullies I just cannot abide.
There are those who say I am arrogant and cruel,
Those who know me would all disagree,
My ethos in life is I live by the rule,
