Poetic-Verses
'' They Will Meet Your Aspirations ''
I went out and bought myself a dog,
He brings me so much joy,
Though walking him can be a slog,
Sometimes he does annoy.
I didn't know much about him,
As I never gave it much thought,
In truth I bought him on a whim,
No advice was ever sought.
I didn't know they needed out,
This has really opened my eyes,
The laws of decency is what they flout,
They also need exercise.
One day he dropped one on the street,
Picking it up I did decline,
I thought that I was being discreet,
But they hit me with a fine.
Arriving home from the pub,
I thought my dog is all that matters,
Now his presence I will snub,
As my suite he's left in tatters.
Nobody told me dogs got bored,
Sitting around all day,
A brand new suite I can't afford,
He is causing me affray.
One day I found him lying still,
I thought he must have died,
I didn't know that dogs took ill,
I just broke down and cried.
I asked the neighbour for advice,
He said he needs a vet,
Will there be a hefty price,
He replied to me, you bet.
I thought my pet would live forever,
Without the need for care,
But ties with him I must now sever,
You may well say that isn't fair.
I thought they lived a healthy life,
Illness only happened to us,
But all he's done is give me strife,
He's created such a fuss.
If buying a pet springs to mind,
Think of the implications,
They're just like us so if you're kind,
' They Will Meet Your Aspirations '
